Hello Lizzie,

Just wanted to say thankyou for making me laugh so heartily upon reading your fabulous Guardian article on being single at Christmas. I particularly enjoyed the image of emptying a syringe of chocolate, which actually made my stomach ache with laughter. Much needed, and much appreciated. So, thankyou.

Do hope you enjoy the holiday and trip to Australia. I related to much of what you said, despite being a chap. The road to finding a partner who’s kind, self-aware – and all that malarkey – can seem rather long and altogether windy, at times. That’s ‘windy’ as in a bendy road, and not in the Michael Fish hurricane sense.
